Rogers Unveils 2011 4Q Results

Rogers Communications reported on its 2011 fourth quarter results recently, announcing an adjusted operating profit gain of 3% over 2010. The firm also announced that cable operations revenue rose 3% as well, the growth based on a 59% increase in total cable service unit net additions, while margins of 48% reflect ongoing realization of cost efficiencies. Other highlights include:

  • Added 44,000 digital cable subscribers over 2011, with 10,000 of these occurring in Q4 (totals do not include Compton acquisition)
  • Added over 100,000 high-speed cable Internet subscribers over the year, with 25,000 added in Q4

2011 Q4 Results Roll in for Windstream

Windstream Communications released its 2011 Q4 and annual results recently. Total revenues were $1.6 billion for the fourth quarter, an increase of 0.7% year-over-year. Consumer broadband revenues reached $118 million for the quarter, up 7%. Meanwhile, high-speed Internet and digital television customers rose (4% for both), although the net high-speed Internet additions fell (8,300 in 2011, compared to 11,400 in 2010).
