CenturyLink Releases Annual Results

Next up, CenturyLink. The company reported revenues of $4.653 billion and growth of 4.7% year-over-year. They also announced strong growth in high-speed Internet subscriber numbers, with over 70,000 new additions (reaching 5.55 million customers), as well as 1,250 fiber builds within their fiber-to-the-tower expansion initiative. Other highlights:

  • Broadband subscriber base grew from 5,316,000 to 5,554,000 in 2011
  • Expanded Prism TV subscribership by 30% in Q4 2011, and increased penetration of available homes from 5% to 7%

Comcast Announces Q4 and Year-End Results

And the hits just keep on coming. Comcast reports its annual results. Among the many numbers:

  • Cable Communications OCF grew 6.4% in Q4, year-over-year
  • Cable revenue increased by 4.7%, to $9.5 billion, driven by a 10.1% increase in high-speed Internet revenue and a 36.8% increase in business services revenue
  • The number of video customers dropped, from  22,802,000 to 22,343,000
  • In contrast, the number of high-speed Internet subscribers rose from 16,988,000 to 18,147,000
  • Combined video, high-speed Internet, and voice customers increased by 1.4 million
